On April 6, 2023, the first meeting of the DEFA
Project Management Board (PMB) (101082829-DEFA-ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE “Development of financial autonomy of universities in Kyrgyzstan”) was held at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ program.

The project board consists of 15 people, including Nurlan Omurov – Chairman, National Project Coordinator, M.K. Chynybaev – project coordinator at KSTU named after I. Razzakov, Philip Polenz – professor, dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg, Elena Gori – professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Florence, Katerina Impastato – project manager at CESIE, Saltanat Osmonalieva – chief accountant KSTU and rectors of project partner universities.

The meeting agenda included the following 3 issues:

• On the list and purchase of equipment for partner universities;
• On the list and purchase of equipment for the Skills Development Center for managing financial autonomy;
• Approval of the project dissemination plan.

Nurlan Omurov , national project coordinator, presented lists of equipment from partner universities within the budget allocated by the project.

The rectors of each partner university presented their own configuration of equipment for purchase.

The list of equipment for the Skills Development Center for managing financial autonomy was presented by the rector of KSTU Mirlan Chynybaev .

Chinara Adamkulova , Rector of the Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, presented a plan for disseminating information on the progress and results of the DEFA project.

Saltanat Osmonalieva , chief accountant of KSTU, presented a list of expenses that will be financed under the project. This list includes equipment, wages of project participants, travel expenses, subcontract work, etc.

A list of required supporting documents and examples of financial documents are also discussed.

After listening to all the reports and proposals, the members of the Project Management Council unanimously approved all the issues discussed at the meeting.
